Honest Knitwear from Detroit
Detroit, Michigan
Josh York | Founder of Soft Goods
Soft Goods is an apparel manufacturing company rooted in Detroit, MI. Founded by Josh York in 2017 after leaving behind a career in corporate fashion, the company started with a leap of faith, a first Juki sewing machine, and a dream taking shape inside a dusty warehouse.
Josh set out to build more than a clothing company. He wanted to create something meaningful in his hometown, something that could produce exceptional garments while also creating real jobs and real opportunity for Detroiters. In doing so, Soft Goods became part of the story of a city continuing to rebuild, reimagine, and reclaim its legacy.
Now, nearly a decade later, Soft Goods stands as a proud part of Detroit’s manufacturing community, and Josh is living his wildest “Juki and a Dream.”
